Despite her labored efforts, she can’t seem to get a coherent stream of words together, can’t convey the message she’s trying so desperately to send.
She starts to say something, then abruptly stops before reaching the last syllable of the word that she deemed inadequate midway through. She twists her lips into an expression that reveals consternation and frustration at herself, at her inability to use a language she’s called her own since she uttered her first words so many years ago as a conduit to declare her thoughts, feelings, sentiments. &
